We went to the dr. this morning for Olivia's two month check-up. The day started off better than any before...because she slept through the night again! She went down at 8:15 pm. (yesterday was quite the fussy day for her) and didn't wake up until 6:15. She went back to sleep and I had to wake her up to take her to the doctor at 8:30.
She was such a trooper at the doctor's office. She loved the first part because she got to be stripped down to her diaper. They weighed her (10 lbs. 5 oz.) and measured her length (22 inches) all while she was smiling away. She loves to be naked. She is in the 40th percentile for length and 45th for weight. I forget how big her head is, but it is in the 60th percentile.
Then for the not so fun part. 5 pokies! Actually, one was oral (she loved it!), so 4 pokies. I had to hold her arms down while the nurse leaned against her legs to keep them down. O screamed on the first one and screamed through the remaining 3. The nurse was super fast and had them done in less than 10 seconds. As soon as I picked Olivia up, she quit crying and cooed at me. She slept the whole way home. The nurse said she would probably be sleepy today, and I was so happy to hear that. Is that bad??? If you had been present for yesterday, you would understand completely.
Do you ever have a day when you just sort of want to send them back, just for a little bit? That was yesterday. My sister informed me there was no way she would fit back into my tummy. Darn. Did I mention that Eric was home sick yesterday and that never in his 2.5 years at ExxonMobil has he taken a sick day...AHHH! I had a very fussy baby, a very sick husband, and a VERY jealous dog to tend to yesterday. But, I let for a brief last night and drove to get a chocolate malt. It brought me a little bit of relief. 8:15 pm brought me much more relief. :)
So, now Olivia is sleepy, Eric is better, and Lupe is....still jealous. How am I you ask? SICK. Now I am sick. Wish me luck that O won't get it!

Hope you feel better soon, Kel.
I had a very similar experience with Adah at the doctor this week. She was so mad at me for letting the nurse hurt her. Unlike O, Adah took a good 15 minutes to calm down. But then she fell asleep. I dread the next shot day!
