Rough Night

My friend Sophie came over last night, and we got into all of Mommy's stuff. We got out every single pair of her shoes and almost everything else from her closet. Playing dress up is so fun! Sophie is my best friend ever! --Olivia

Bed time did not go so well last night. We had put Olivia to bed around 8, and she started up her usual bedtime chatter. About 20 minutes later, we hear her door open and she peeked out. Eric saw her and told her to go back to bed. She closed the door and we didn't hear h her again...until about 5 minutes later. She did the same thing, so he told her to go back to bed again. She closed the door and was quiet. About 40 minutes later, we went to check on her, but were unable to open the door. Why? Because she had fallen asleep on the floor right up against the door. How pathetic. My sister used to do this all the time when she was little.

Yes, we did turn on the flash and take a picture of her asleep by the door.

Anyway, around 11 she had finally rolled away from the door, so Eric put her back into her bed. At 2:30 she was running into our room crying. I picked her up, and took her back into her bed. She stayed in there, quiet, until about 3:45. She came back into our room, but was super quiet this time. Know how I knew she was in there? She grabbed my toe. Talk about having a scare in the middle of the night. Cold fingers surrounding my hot, out of the covers, big toe. I jumped and yelled her name. She simply replied, "yes?" Then she said, "nap done Mommy" as if she thought it were daytime and that her nap was over. Eric took her back to bed and she stayed there until 6:45 am. Arg. So much for sleeping in today! :) Hopefully this phase doesn't last long!

Oh my goodness!! I remember Latham getting out of bed early once he had the freedom to. Ugh! Now he knows not to talk to us until the sun is up...and he rarely misses that. Good luck!
